Privacy Policy
How Markup handles data in the Chrome extension and on this site. Last updated 8 August 2026.
Who we are
Markup Human Auto Typer and Humanizer helps students practice school writing. It can type text you provide into page fields and Google Docs, and rewrite drafts locally or with optional cloud AI.
What we collect
- On your device: settings, theme, chat history you create, drafts you enter, typing options, and local free AI try counts.
- If you use cloud AI: the text you send, plus a guest id or signed in account token, so we can reply and enforce free use limits.
- If you sign in with Google: name, email, and avatar shown in the app, and an account id used for AI quota.
- Server logs: normal connection data such as IP address when you call Markup’s API.
What we do not collect
- Browsing history for ads
- Unrelated page content when you are not using Markup
- Payment card numbers inside the extension
- Live keystroke logging of your normal typing outside Markup’s auto type feature
How we use data
Local rewrite runs on your device. Cloud AI runs only when you choose AI chat or cloud rewrite. Quota limits stop unpaid overuse. Sign in is optional for a small number of guest tries, then required for more daily AI tokens.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for unrelated advertising.

Remote code
Markup does not download and run remote executable code. Cloud AI replies are text. Local rewrite logic ships inside the extension package.
Your choices
Clear extension storage in Chrome, sign out, or uninstall to remove local data. For questions about cloud data, use the support email on the Chrome Web Store listing or contact the maintainer through markup.school.
School use
Markup is for research and practice. Follow your school’s rules. If you submit work, it is still yours to stand behind.
